Question

A circular garden whose diameter is 28 m needs to be front, what would be the length of the facing wire required if the gardener makes 3 rounds of fence. Also, find the cost of the wire if it cost Rs. 30 meters.

Solution

As the garden is in the shape of a circle.
Therefore,
Diameter of garden =28m(Given)
Radius of garden (r)=282=14m
As we know that circumference of the circle is given by-
Circumference =2πr
where as, r is the radius of circle.
Therefore,
Circumference of garden =2×227×14=88m
For 3 round of fence,
Length of wire required =3×88=264m
Given that the cost of wire is Rs.30 per m
Therefore,
Cost of wire =30×264=Rs.7920.
Hence the length of wire required is 264m and the cost of required wire will be Rs.7920.
