Given,
Total number of students = p

Money collect from each student = Rs. 50

Total money collected = Rs. $50 \times p$ = 50p

Advance money paid for transport = Rs. 1800

Money left with them for other items=total amount collected- amount paid for transport
$= 50 p - 1800$
Hence, money left with them to spend on other items is $50 p - 1800$ .
