volume of wood $= 80 \times 60 \times 50 = 240, 000 ‬ {c m}^{3}$

Dimensions of inner wood because to calculate the volume of wood required we have to subtract the inner dimensions from outer dimensions.

Thickness of wood $= 2$ cm

Inner dimension $= (80 - 4) \times (60 - 4) \times (50 - 4)$

$= 76 \times 56 \times 46 = 1, 95, 776 {c m}^{3}$

volume of wood $= 2, 40, 000 ‬ - 1, 95, 776 = 44, 224 {c m}^{3}$
