A closed can of soda is thrown in the sea. After a certain depth the can starts getting crushed. What is the reason behind this phenomenon? If we take it to mount everest, what will happen? [3 MARKS]

Reasoning : 1.5 Marks each

Pressure is different at different depths. With increase in depth, the water column above increases so its pressure also increases. That’s why the can gets crushed.
At mount everest exact opposite will happen. Now, outward pressure is less than inward pressure. So can would inflate.
