Length of iron tank (l) = 12 m

Breadth (b) = 9 m

Depth (h) = 4 cm

(Total surface area of the sheet used)

$= 2 [l b + b h + h l]$

$= 2 [12 \times 9 + 9 \times 4 + 4 \times 12] m^{2}$

$= 2 [108 + 36 + 48] = 384 m^{2}$

$Width of sheet = 2 m$

$∴ L e n g t h o f s h e e t = \frac{A r e a}{W i d t h} = \frac{384}{2} = 192 m$

Rate of 1 m sheet = Rs 5

$∴ Total cost = R s 192 \times 5 = R s 960$
