The correct option is C 14
Radius and number of turns of the coil initially are r and n respectively.
Thus initial length of the wire, L=n(2πr)
Area of the coil, A=πr2
Initial magnetic moment, μ=nlA=nlπr2 ..........(1)
Now the same wire is rewound to form the coil of radius r=r4
Let the number of turns in the new coil be n
Length of the wire, L=n(2πr)=2πr4n
But L=L, we get, 2πrn=2πr4nn=4n
Area of the new coil, A=π(r)2=πr216
Magnetic moment of the new coil, μ=nlA=4nl×πr216=nlπr24
μ=μ4μμ=14
