  1. Heat can be defined as the energy which flows from the body of a higher temperature to a body of lower temperature.
  2. When two bodies of different temperatures are brought in contact, then heat flows from the body with a higher temperature to the body with a lower temperature until both the body reaches equilibrium temperature.
  3. This process of transfer of heat is called conduction.
  4. When a cold spoon is dipped in the hot milk then the heat of the milk gets transferred to the spoon until both reach an equilibrium temperature.
