Solution

Step 1:

Given information:

Capital=Rs.10,00000

Value of one share =Rs.10

Dividend declared=Rs.50,000

Number of shares Govind hold=300

Step 2:

Calculate dividend received by Govind:

Calculate rate of dividend.

Rateofdividend=AmountofdividendTotalparvalue×100Rateofdividend=50,00010,00000×100Rateofdividend=5%

Total par value of 300 shares=300×10=Rs.3,000

Thus, the dividend received by Govind is computed as,

Dividend=5%of3,000Dividend=3,000×5100Dividend=Rs.150

Hence, the dividend received by Govind is Rs. 150.
