For balance transportation problem

No. of supply points = m + n - 1 = 2 + 2 - 1 = 3

No. of demand point = 4

Total demand = 50 + 40 = 90

Points to Remember:

If the total supply from all the factories is equal to the total demand in all the destinations, then the problem is called balanced, otherwise unbalanced. If the given problem is unbalanced, we need to balance it by adding a dummy source or destination.
