A single - use plan will be devised for the construction of the shopping mall because it is not likely to be repeated in the future. The steps involved in devising the plan is as follows:
(i) The first step involves setting up the objective of the plan which is to construct a shopping mall. Accordingly, suitable resources like labour, equipment, cement, sand etc., need to be identified that would lead to the goal of achieving the final objective of completion of constructing the shopping mall.
(ii) The second step will involve determining the time frame 1, 2 or 3 years till the mall will be constructed in the future from the start date. The budget, costs of construction, marketing costs, advertising costs, and the potential sales prices in the future will also be forecasted.
(iii) The third step will involve identifying alternative approaches to construct the mall within a certain frame with relevant resources and prevailing market conditions.
(iv) Fourth step will be comparing these alternatives and choosing the appropriate option fifth step will be to select a suitable alternative to starting off the construction.
(v) Sixth step will be to implement the plan by aligning and allocating all human and physical resources identified during the 1st, 2nd and 3rd steps.
(vi) The final step involves follow-up on the construction from the start date on a continuous basis till the mall is constructed at the proposed date of completion. During this step, relevant measures can be taken to modify, adjust or rectify the construction processes.
