The correct option is B 4500
Total number of items produced for first three months = 4000 x 3 = 12000
Total number of items required to be produced over a period of 12 months = 4375 x 12 = 52500
$\Rightarrow$ Number of items to be produced over a period of 9 months = 52500 - 12000 = 40500
$∴$ Average number of articles per month produced over 9 months = $\frac{40500}{9} = 4500$
