Mass of Nitrogen = 28 g
Mass of Metal = 72 g
3 atoms of Metal combine with 2 atoms of Nitrogen. Molecular formula of compound is M3N2.
Molar mass of Compound = 100 g
Consider the atomic mass of metal is "x" u.
.Atomic mass of Nitrogen = 14 u
3x + (2×14) = 100
3x = 100 - 28
3x = 72
x = 72 / 3
= 24 g
Atomic mass of Metal is 24 u.
