36% carbon i.e

100 gram of the compound 36 gram of carbon


From the given data we know that,

1 mole of the compound contains 2 moles of Carbon.

36 gm of carbon = 3612=3 mole

3 mole of carbon is present in 12×3=32 moles of the compound.


32 mole =100gM.W. of compound

M.W. =66.67

Moles of compound =wM.W.=1066.67=0.15 mole
