The compound X, Y and Z are ethanol $$\displaystyle (C_2H_5OH)$$, sodium ethoxide $$\displaystyle C_2H_5ONa$$ and ethyl chloride $$\displaystyle C_2H_5Cl$$ respectively.
Ethanol reacts with Na metal to form sodium ethoxide.

 $$\displaystyle C_2H_5OH \xrightarrow {Na}C_2H_5ONa + 0.5 H_2$$
Ethanol also reacts with $$PCl_5$$ to give ethyl chloride.

 $$\displaystyle C_2H_5OH \xrightarrow {PCl_5}C_2H_5Cl$$
 The product obtained in the reaction between sodium ethoxide and ethyl chloride is diethyl ether.
