Solution

The correct option is B 0.2 cm, 16514 cm
The diagram of the given problem:

For concave mirror:

Object distance, u=30 cm
Focal length, f=10 cm
Object height, AB=2 cm

Using mirror formula,

1v+1u=1f

1v+130=110

v=15 cm

Magnification,

m=Image heightObject height=ABAB=vu

ABAB=vu

AB2=(15)30

AB=1

Image formed by first reflection will be real inverted and diminished as shown in the figure.

Convex mirror:
For convex mirror, the image formed by concave mirror will act as object for convex mirror.
Now, the object distance for convex mirror, u=O2A = (7015) = 55 cm

f=+15 cm

Using the mirror formula,

1v+1u=1f

1v=115+155

v=16514 cm

Magnification:

m=+A′′B′′AB= vu

+A′′B′′AB=(16514)55

A′′B′′=(+314)

A′′B′′=0.214 cm0.2 cm

So, the size of the final image is A′′B′′=0.2 cm and the position of image is v′′ = 16514 cm.

Hence, option (b) is the correct answer.
Why this question:
To understand the image formation by combination of spherical mirrors.
