Let's look at the schematic first.

We have,
f=20cm.(recall,f=R2)u=30cm.Using mirror formula1u+1v=1fOr,1v=1f1uSubstituting the values;1v=120130=120+130We get,1v=160cm1
Hence,
v=−60 cm  or 60 cm ,on the side of the object
