Moment of inertia,

I=bd312=120×200312

=80×106mm4

Stress at top fibre

=PAMyI

=PA(P.e)yI

=150×103120×200(150×103×20).10080×106

= 6.25 - 3.75

=2.5N/mm2 (Compression)

Stress at bottom fibre

=PA+MyI=6.25+3.75

=10N/mm2
