A conical tent is to accommodate 11 persons. Each person must have 4 sq.m of the space on the ground and 20 cubic metre of air to breath. Find the height of the cone.

As each person needs 4 sq.m space on ground
So 11 person will need 44 sq.m space on the ground.
Therefore,
Area of ground = 44sq.m
πr = 44sq.m
r = 44/π .......(1)
and each person needs 20cu.m of air
So 11 persons will need 220 cu .m of air
Therefore volume of tent = 220 cu.m
1/3πr h = 220cu.m
(1/3*π)*(44/π)*h = 220 ( from 1 )
1/3*44*h = 220
h = 220*3 / 44
h = 5*3
h = 15 cm
