Solution

The correct option is B 12πηrvo
There is no relative motion between liquid and container.
So, velocity of liquid = velocity of container
velocity of liquid =3vo (downward)
Relative velocity of sphere with respect to liquid,
v=vo3vo=2vo
So, the velocity of the sphere is 2vo upward w.r.t liquid.
Now, viscous force on sphere,
Fv=6πrη(2vo)
Fv=12πηrvo

Why this question?Drag force on a solid body moving insidea liquid acts due to relative motion between liquidand solid body.
