A convex real view mirror is preferred over a plane mirror in a car. Why?

1) The actual image looks smaller than the original and this is required , this property cannot be obtained in a plane mirror.

2 ) Since a convex mirror provides a better view or a wider angle of view , whereas in a plane mirror ,the angle of view is less as compared to a convex mirror .
