Let the number of articles produced $=x$

Given that the cost of production of each article (in ₹) was 3 more than twice the number of articles produced on that day.

So that the cost of production of each article $=₹(2x+3)$

Given that If the total cost of production on that day was ₹ 90.

So that production cost = ₹ 90

$\Rightarrow x(2x+3)=90$

$\Rightarrow 2x^2+3x–90=0$

Factorizing the above equation,

$\Rightarrow 2x^2-12x+15x-90=0$

$\Rightarrow 2x(x-6)+15(x-6)=0$

$\Rightarrow (2x+15)(x-6)=0$

$\Rightarrow x=-\frac{15}{2}$ or $x=6$ are the roots

But number of objects cannot be negative.

Hence, no. of articles produced = 6
