It was observed on a particular day that the cost of production of each article (in ₹) was 3 more than twice the number of articles produced on that day. Find the number of articles produced, if the total cost of production on that day was ₹ 90.

The correct option is B 6

Let the number of articles produced =x

Given that the cost of production of each article (in ₹) was 3 more than twice the number of articles produced on that day.

So that the cost of production of each article =(2x+3)

Given that If the total cost of production on that day was ₹ 90.

So that production cost = ₹ 90

x(2x+3)=90

2x2+3x90=0

Factorizing the above equation,

2x212x+15x90=0

2x(x6)+15(x6)=0

(2x+15)(x6)=0

x=152 or x=6 are the roots

But number of objects cannot be negative.

Hence, no. of articles produced = 6
