A cottage industry produces a certain number of toys in a day. The cost of production of each toy (in rupees) was found to be 55 minus the number of toys produced in a day. On a particular day, the total cost of production was Rs. 750. Find the number of toys produced on that day.

The correct option is C Number of toys are either 25 or 30.
Let the number of toys produced on that day be x.
Therefore the cost of production of each toy that day = Rs. (55x)
So the total cost of production that day = x(55x).
x(55x)=750
x2+55x750=0
x255x+750=0
x225x30x+750
x(x25)30(x25)=0
(x25)(x30)=0
So, x=25 or x=30
Therefore, the number of toys produced that day are 25 or 30.
