The complete journey can be given as,
Cotton is obtained from the fruit (cotton bolls) of its plant. After maturing, the bolls burst open, and the seeds covered with cotton fibres can be seen. From these bolls, cotton is usually picked by hand. Fibres are then separated from the seeds by combing. This process is called ginning. After ginning, the fibres are made into yarn by the process of spinning. The yarns can be then made into fabrics by the process of weaving. The fabric thus made can be sewed to make a cotton shirt.
