Solution

The correct option is C Voltage applied to deflecting plates is 80 V.
We know,
Deflection, D =LldEd2dEa

Voltage applied to deflecting plates,

Ed=2dEaDLla=2×d×Ea×DLld

=2×5×103×4×102×150050×102×1.5×102

Ed=60000×10575×104=80V

Input voltage to amplifier = 2 V

We know input voltage required for a deflection of 4 cm

=EdAmplifiergain

So, Amplifier gain =Ed2=802=40
