Floors above the deck = 5 [given]
Floors below the deck = 4 [given]
Floor position of Captain’s cabin from the base of ship = 8 [given]
So, the floor position of Captain’s cabin from the deck = 8 - 4 = 4
Hence, the captain is controlling the ship from his cabin that is situated on the 4th floor from the deck.
