We know that volume of $64$ small cubes $=$ volume of the big cube

Let $a$ be the side of the big cube

$\Rightarrow 64(1{)}^3=a^3$

$\Rightarrow a=4cm$

Surface area of big cub $=6a^2$

$=6\times 16$

$=96c{m}^2$
