The correct option is A Ice moves downward
When ice is placed on iron strip, the temperature of the iron strip falls and thus it shrinks, but the temperature fall hardly reaches the copper strip, thus it bends less. Hence the bimetallic strip bends upwards and the ice moves downwards.
