Solution

(i) Oblique sketch:

Let us draw an oblique sketch of a cube dimensions 4×4×4 cubic cm.

Step 1: Draw the front square face on a squared lines paper by taking 4 squares on both sides.

Step 2: Draw another square face of same size, somewhat off set from step 1.

Step 3: Join the corresponding corners.

Step 4: Redraw the sketch using dashed line segments and solid line segments (use dashed line segments for edges that cannot seen).

(ii) Isometric sketch:

To draw an isometric sketch of a cuboid of dimensions 2 cm by 2 cm by 2 cm, follow the steps in the figures given below:

Step 1: Draw a rectangle of dimension 2 cm by 2 cm to show the front face.

Step 2: Draw four oblique line segments from the four corners of length 2 cm.

Step 3: Draw the lateral face by connecting vertices.

Which is the required isometric sketch.
