The total volume of the shape is equal to the sum of volumes of the two cubes.


Volume of a cube
= Length × Width × Height

For a cube: length = width = height

Volume of the cube (with length 2 cm)
= 2 × 2 × 2 = 8 cubic centimeters

Volume of the cube (with length 3 cm)
= 3 × 3 × 3 = 27 cubic centimeters

Total volume = 8 + 27
= 35 cubic centimeters
