A cubical vessel with opaque wall is so placed that the eye of an observer cannot see its bottom but can see the entire wall CD. A small object is placed at O at a distance b=10 cm from corner D. What minimum depth of water (μ=43) should be poured into vessel which will enable the observer to see the object?

u=4/3
In AOC
tan45o=AOOC
l=AOOC
AO=OC=10 cm
Shift =10 cm
Now,
u=RealdepthApparentdepth
Let Real depth of object be x
So,
43=xx10
4x40=3x
x=40 cm
So, water should be poured upto 40 cm into the vessel.
