A cuboid has dimensions of 0.4m×0.6m×0.2m and a weight of 288 kg-f. What is the maximum pressure exerted by the cuboid?

Given,
F=288×9.8=2822.4N
l=0.4m
b=0.6m
h=0.2m
Pressure, P=FA
From the above equation, we can say that pressure is inversely proportional to the area, pressure is maximum when area is minimum.
a=lb=0.4×0.6=0.24m2 (maximum area)
a=bh=0.6×0.2=0.12m2
a′′=hl=0.2×0.4=0.08m2 (minimum area)

P=Fa′′=2822.40.08=225.789N/m2
