We know that volume of a cuboid
$=length\times Breadth\times Height$

That is volume of the given cuboid
$=24\times 14\times 8=2688c{m}^3$

Volume of a cube of side $a$ $=a^3$

Thereofore, Volume of the small cube
$=4^3=64$ $c{m}^3$

Number of small cubes that can be placed
$=\frac{2688}{64}=42$
