Given: A horizontal wire carrying current I to the right.
Solution: We use here Right hand thumb rule,
which state that, hold a straight current carrying conductor in such a way that extended thumb points out in the dirn
of current flow then the direction of curl of fingers shows the dirn of magnetic field.
According to this, in our problem,
current dirn is in +ve x direction as it placed horizontally,
also the point P is placed above the current carrying wire which concludes that the dirn of magnetic field is point
to the top of the page on applying right hand thumb rule.
