Question

A current is flowing through a solenoid from a dc source of steady emf. What will be the nature of change in the current during a quick removal of the soft iron core from the solenoid?

as we removed the soft iron core the indutance of the solenoid will fall .means the L decreases .since E=Ldidtsince the L decreases to kept the E constant the rate di/dt will rise hence the current will rise abruptly.Regards
