A cycle together with its rider weighs 100kg. How much work is needed to set it moving at 3m/s.

As we may know,
Power = Force x Velocity
it can also be written as ,
power = Mass x Acceleration due to gravity x velocity
(Mass x Acceleration due to gravity) = Force
therefore ,
the formula will be,
Power = mg x velocity
given ,
velocity = 3 m/s
m = 100 kg
since the value of g isn't specified , we will take average value = 9.8 m/s²
therefore ,
Power = 100 x 9.8 x 3
. = 980 x 3
. = 2940 W
Therefore , Answer is 2940 W.
