A cyclist is travelling at 15 mS1 accelerates at 0.5 ms2 for 30 s. How far will it travel in this time?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1, Given data

Speed = 15 m/s

Acceleration = 0.5 m/s2

Time = 30 sec

Step 2, Finding the distance traveled

From the equation of motion

We know,

s=ut+12at2

Putting all the values

s=15×30+12×12×30×30

After solving

S = 675 m

Hence the distance traveled is 675 m
