Question

A cylinder, acone and a hemisphere are of base and have the same height what is the ratio in their volume?

Open in App
Solution

Let r and h be the radius of base and height of the cylinder, cone and hemisphere.
We know that, Height of hemisphere=Radius of the hemisphere.
h=r
Volume of cylinder=πr2h=πr2×r=πr3
Volume of cone13πr2h=13πr2×r=13πr3
Volume of hemisphere=23πr3
Volume of cylinder:Volume of cone:Volume of hemisphere
=πr3:13πr3:23πr3
=1:13:23
=3:1:2
Thus, the ratio of their volumes is =3:1:2
