Solution

The correct option is A Rs.5181
Radius of the base (r)=12m=12×100cm=50cm
Height (h)=1.4m=1.4×100cm=140cm
Surface area to be tin-coated=2(2πrh+πr2)
=2(2×3.14×50×140+3.14×(502
=2(43960+7850)=2(51810)=103620cm2
Cost of tin-coating at the rate of Rs.50 per 1000cm2=Rs.501000×103620= Rs.5181
