(a) Isomerism : The compounds having the some molecular formula but different physical and chemical properties are called isomers and this phenomenon is called isomerism. The two main causes of isomerism are: (i) Difference in the mode of linking of atoms. (ii) Different spacial arrangement of atoms or groups.
