Solution

(a)
The nature of glass:
Glass is a super cooled liquid. It is also called psuedo solid. It is an amorphous solid and behaves like fluids and very slowly floats under gravity. The lower sides of glass panes of windows, photoframes, cupboards and showcases become slightly thicker and upper ends become thinner.
(b) The differences between physical adsoprtion and chemical adsorption:

Physical adsoprtion Chemical adsorption
It has low heat of adsorption (20 to 40 kJ/mol).
It has high heat of adsorption (40 to 200 kJ/mol).
Several layers of adsorbed particles are formed.
Only one layer of adsorbed particles is formed.
It is relatively weak.
It is relatively strong.
