We have,

Given that,

The length of the tile $= 10 c m .$

The base of tile $= 4 c m .$

We know that,

Area $= l \times b$

$10 \times 4$

$= 40 c m^{2}$

Given that,

Total number of tiles in the room $= 1000$

Therefore,

The total area of the floor

$= 1000 \times 40$

$= 40000 c m^{2}$

Given that,

Cost of polishing per $c m^{2} = 9.50 / c m$

Therefore,

The cost of polishing

$= 40000 \times 9.50$

$= 380000$

Hence, this is the answer.
