Open in App
Solution

Set of Numbers on Die ={ 1,2,3,4,5,6 }

Our sample set ={ 2,4,6 }

p ( getting an even number ) = 3 / 6 = 1 / 2

q ( not getting an even number ) = 3 / 6 = 1 / 2

n ( number of times die is thrown ) = 100

Variance = n * p * q = ( 1 / 2 ) * ( 1 / 2 ) * 100 = 25

Therefore, the variance of the number of successes = 25
