Solution

A die is thrown once,

The possible outcomes ={1,2,3,4,5,6}

i.e., n(S)=6

(i) Probability of getting a number less than 3=n(E)n(S)=26=13

(ii) Probability of getting a number greater than or equal to 4=n(E)n(S)=46=23

(iii) Probability of getting a number less than 8=n(E)n(S)=66=1

(iv) Probability of getting a number greater than 6=n(E)n(S)=06=0
