A disc is painted as in the figure below. It is rotated very fast as indicated by the direction of the arrow. What will be the colour of the disc?

If white light is formed by combining a primary colour and a secondary colour, then the two colours are mutually complementary colours.
Blue is a primary colour and yellow is a secondary colour. Yellow is the complementary colour for blue i.e. when blue and yellow are combined we get a white colour. So when the wheel is rotated very fast the two colours appear combined due to property of persistence of vision of our eye. As the wheel rotates very fast, it renders changing colours on our eye faster than our eye can differentiate. So for the eye, the colour appears to be what the combination of both these colours would be.
