Solution

Dodder plantis a parasitic plant so it mainly depends on other plants for its growth. From the very beginningof its life it has only roots, it grows from the seed and sprouts like the other plants do but as soon as it starts to grow it attaches itself to the stem of the host plant and loose its connection from the ground. So in this way Dodder plant with the help of small bumps on its stem known as'haustoria'that pressed up against the host plant's stem, derived its nutrients that it needs for its survival without killing the host.
