A dog hear its echo after time, T = 0.5 s
Speed of sound in air, S = 346 m/s

Let the distance between the dog and the building be X.
According to the question, the distance travelled by the sound between the bark of the dog and the echo heard by the dog is 2X.

We know,
$S p e e d = \frac{D i s tan c e}{T i m e}$

Therefore,
$S = \frac{2 X}{T} 346 = \frac{2 X}{0.5}$
X = 86.5 m

Hence, the distancebetween the dog and the building is 86.5 m.
