Solution
The correct option is BPolytrichum Polytrichum is a genus of mosses. In bryophytes, many antherzoids enter into venter of archegonia, but only the most active one fuses with egg to form diploid zygote. Here the gametophytic generation ends and sporophytic generation begins. The division of zygote is transverse and development of embryo is by exoscopic embryogeny. The embryo is not liberated but retained in archegonium, where it develops into sporophyte. In bryophytes, it is called as sporogonium as it is dependent and mainly meant for producing spores.
