Question

A doped silicon wafer has a thickness of 0.5 mm and a Hall-coefficient of 2×102. If the current thorugh the wafer is 7.5 mA, then the magnitue of hall voltage for a magnetic flux density of 0.2 T is _____ mV.
  1. 60

Solution

The correct option is A 60
The Hall voltage is given by

V=RHIB/t
where,
RH= Hall coefficient

t= Wafer thickenss (m)

I= Current through water (A)

B= Magnetic flux density T

V=2×1020.5×103×7.5×103×0.2=0.06 V=60 mV
