The correct option is A 29 Steps

$\Rightarrow$ Displacement in first eight steps $=(5-3)m=2m$

$\Rightarrow$ Time taken for first eight steps $=8s$

Time taken by the drunkard to cover first $6m$ of journey $=\frac{6}{2}\times 8=24s$

If the drunkard takes $5$ steps more, he will fall into the pit. So the time taken by the drunkard to cover last five steps $=5s.$

$\Rightarrow$ Total time taken $=24s+5s=29s$

$\therefore$ The drunkard will fall into the pit after $29$ steps.
