Solution

a) Benzoyl chloride is hydrogenated over catalysts, palladium on barium sulphate. This reaction is called Rosenmund reaction. (Ref. image (a))
b) When hydrizine is treated with propanone (acetone) in presence of acid as catalyst, hydrazone derivative of acetone is formed.
c) Chromyl chloride is the oxidising agent used in the Etard's reaction. An aromatic methyl group is oxidised to an aldehyde using chromyl chloride. Reaction of toluene with chromyl chloride gives a chromium complex (Etard Complex). Hydrolysis gives Benzaldehyde.
